Spelling the Months of the Year {Light Table Activity for Kids}

J loves spelling and I am always trying to introduce him to new vocabulary words.  As I have mentioned, I have been trying to introduce J to the months of the year.  So combine his love for letters and spelling with the light box and J will be receptive to learning anything. 

Materials

• Alphabet beads
• Light box
• Months of the year spinner

I put out the items on the floor with the month spinner set to January.  I helped him to sound out and read the  names of the months.

Spelling January

He took to this activity right away spelling March...

and April...

And then he stopped.  In the end, it wasn't nearly as successful as I had hoped, but it still exposed him to at least some of the months.
