I took advantage of the remaining beautiful green leaves of summer by creating this green sensory bin for my kids.

I simply took some leaves off the apple trees in my backyard, along with some clippings from some of our cedar trees, and used them as the base for this sensory bin.  I added two green melamine bowls that are actually from our pack and play stove and some green glass gems and green jewelry beads.  The large green glass gems have some light green swirled in them so they end up looking almost like leaves themselves.

Shortly after J started exploring this bin, I remembered that I wanted to put some green creatures in it too.  So I quickly grabbed some lizards and snakes from a Safari Ltd. Reptiles TOOB and added them in.

J decided to use the bowls to sort the reptiles and glass stones.

Then he spent a lot of time playing with the green stones, carefully lining them up in a row.  And, not surprisingly, he counted them as well.

K checked out the bin after his nap, but quickly lost interest.  I guess green isn't his color...
