Looking for apple activities for kids? Then try this apple themed counting and sorting activity for preschoolers, toddlers, and/or kindergarten aged kids that's perfect on (or off!) the light table.

When I found some acrylic apple table scatter at Michaels, I just knew they would be perfect to use on our DIY light table

And I wasn't wrong. They look fantastic!

Pair the apples with some containers that are the same color and, voila, you have an instant sorting activity for the light table. So if you need a simple apple themed activity for preschool or kindergarten, then you should give this idea a try!

What You'll Need for this Apple Light Table Idea

This apple theme activity is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. Here's what you'll need:

  • Acrylic apples (I found these at Michael's)

  • Permanent markers
To make your own color sorting containers, simply color the bottom of the container with a permanent marker and let it dry.

However, J also kept track of how many apples there were by using his calculator. This boy and his calculator, I tell ya! There's a reason I made him a calculator cake for his birthday this year. (turns out he's got hypernumeracy so it makes sense now)
