Yesterday, my oldest son told me that he actually likes birds even more than snakes now. And that's saying something because he's always really, really liked snakes since he was little.
Could it be that all those games of Wingspan he's watched me play on the Switch have piqued his interest? Perhaps. Maybe it's all the bird watching we've done from my parents' house...not sure.
But honestly, I've noticed that his interest in birds has been there for quite some time. It's why we've picked up a variety of bird books from the library over the past year or so. I guess I just didn't realize how much he liked birds until he told me they now trump his interest in snakes.

Must Have Bird Board Game - Perfect for Older Kids who Love Learning About Birds!
Wingspan Board Game
I've already mentioned that I've spent many hours playing the board game Wingspan. Mostly I play on the Nintendo Switch because the physical game was hard to find here in Canada - in stock - for the longest time. I've learned so many facts about birds because of this game and so has my son. I highly recommend it if you have older kids who are into birds.
There are also a couple of expansions worth checking out too: European Expansion and Oceania Expansion. An Asia expansion was also announced in October 2022.
Don't forget that you can also find this game on other platforms such as Nintendo Switch, STEAM, iOS, and Android.
