On the third day of this series, And Next Comes L gave to you...a light table invitation!

Ahem...Christmas song parodies aside, here's a Valentine's light table activity for kids that I set up for the boys a couple of weeks ago using only two materials.

I've never tried putting cookie cutters on the light table before, but I have to say that they look pretty cool.  So for this light table invitation, I set out some heart cookie cutters (we have these 101 Wilton cookie cutter set) and some glass stones.  I used red, clear, and light purple glass stones.

K was interested in this light table activity at all, but J, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed it.

And honestly, I'm kind of obsessed with how the combination of glass stones and cookie cutters looked on the light table so I'm going to show you a few more pictures.

Looks beautiful, right?  I bet they'd look pretty amazing on the overhead projector too!

  1. I'm always amazed how such simple things - cookie cutters and glass stones, in this case - are often the favorite activities! And adding it to the light table just makes it extra cool!

    1. Thanks, Blayne! There's a reason why we love light table play around here and it has to do with the way it helps both boys focus. And the cookie cutters and stones do look amazing, don't they?!
